If it’s got a password lock.. on the screen by the password thing, it should have a place on it that askes if you want to change it. do you know the specs of the computer ? what version it’s running ?
Do you mean the Windows start-up screen where it asks for a username and password? You should really contact the person who owned it previously. Otherwise, if it came with all the support discs, you could try reinstalling Windows as mentioned already. You should have something called recovery CD or similar, which you can boot from.
Contact the auctioneer and get him/er to put you in touch with the vendor in order to get the password. It could be locked at BIOS, boot and user levels. If the vendor will not give you the password or can not, then the auctioneer should pay to get the computer unlocked as otherwise, what you bought is only a paperweight.
U want options… okay, first its windows lock down, just start the computer after the first beep hit F8 and get the Windows Advance menu, choose safe mode and see if you can get the Administrator Account to load, if you can go to Control Panel and get into User Accounts, you can change the password there, now if you can not get to the Admin I will advise a full Windows Install, CLEAN… if you can neither do that, open the system get the motherboard model lookit up in the internet for the diagram of the Systemboard and get the password jumpter to unlock the system then perform the windows installation… any other questions? Let us know!
